ABSTRACT

This study explored the application value of "Internet +" pharmacy service on psychiatric hospital during the COVID-19 epidemic. During the epidemic, as of December 31, 2020, the number of online pharmacist consultations increased to 149 cases (82.78 %). At the same time, patients had various types of consultation questions, mainly involving adverse drug reactions, drug selection, usage and dosage, persistence of long-term medication, drug distribution, etc. Due to the particularity of psychiatric hospital, pharmaceutical consultation services mainly focus on nervous system drugs. The results indicated that the demand for "Internet +" pharmaceutical consultation services has increased significantly during the COVID-19 epidemic.

ABSTRACT

PurposeThis study aims to develop a comprehensive understanding about employer branding dimensions as well as the dimension's possible links with turnover intentions through the lens of existing hospitality employees.Design/methodology/approachA survey was conducted based on a sample of 200 hospitality employees in order to examine relationships between employer branding dimensions and turnover intentions. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used for data analysis and hypothesis testing.FindingsThe findings found that economic, social, development and security values had negative impacts on turnover intentions;however, the impact of application and interest values on turnover intentions were not confirmed.Practical implicationsHospitality managers can prioritize actions and strategies that influence their staff's intentions to quit, subsequently reducing employee turnover.Originality/valueGiven the lack of studies on employer branding dimensions from the perspective of current employees, especially the employees' relationships with employee turnover intentions, this study points out employer branding factors that impact employee turnover intentions in the settings of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The findings add to the literature on employer branding and employee turnover management and provide insights for hospitality managers in the context of the New Normal.

ABSTRACT

Background: The Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in an extreme challenge for humanity in recent times, like the challenges faced during World War II. Its origin has been pointed out, and the speculation made on its source directly points towards Wuhan in China. Since then, it has spread across the globe. The pandemic has resulted in more than one million deaths, which is a considerable challenge for humanity. Objective: With the pandemic of COVID-19, prevention of patient infection is crucial. This research focused on the orthopedic operating room nursing model effect based on evidence-based nursing and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-act) cycle during the COVID-19 outbreak. Materials and Methods: From February 2020 to May 2020, 146 patients were admitted and received orthopedic surgery at Xuanwu Chunshu Hospital, Beijing, China, these admissions were grouped into control and intervention groups, which was based on the treatment provided. Satisfaction, time to bed and hospitalization, postoperative incision infection, and the occurrence of deep venous thrombosis of lower extremities, pain degree score, surgical treatment effect, anxiety, and depression scores were compared for all the admissions between the control and intervention groups. Results: In the control group, nursing satisfaction was less than in the intervention group. The time of getting out of bed and hospitalization was less in the intervention group;The total incidence of postoperative incision infection and lower limb deep vein thrombosis in the intervention group decreased. In the first postoperative day, the pain level in the intervention group was less than the control group. The effectiveness rate in the observation group is higher than that of the control group. Anxiety and depression scores of both groups tended to decrease with time and there was an interactive effect between grouping and time, where these differences were found to be statistically significant (P-value<0.05). Conclusion: The clinical application of the orthopedics operating room nursing model based on evidence-based nursing and PDCA cycle is remarkable and worth implementing during the COVID-19 outbreak.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which has quickly spread worldwide since its outbreak in December 2019. One of the primary measures for controlling the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection is an accurate assay for its diagnosis. SARS-CoV-2 real-time PCR kits suffer from some limitations, including false-negative results in the clinic. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of a rapid antibody test kit for COVID-19 diagnosis. METHODS: The nuclear capsid protein (N) and spike protein 1 (S1) fragments of SARS-CoV-2 were expressed in Escherichia coli, and rapid antibody-based tests for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection were developed. To evaluate their clinical applications, the serum from COVID-19 patients, suspected COVID-19 patients, recovering COVID-19 patients, patients with general fever or pulmonary infection, doctors and nurses who worked at the fever clinic, and health professionals was analyzed by the rapid antibody test kits. The serum from patients infected with Mycoplasma pneumoniae and patients with respiratory tract infection was further analyzed to test its cross-reactivity with other respiratory pathogens. RESULTS: A 47 kDa N protein and 67 kDa S1 fragment of SARS-CoV-2 were successfully expressed, purified, and renatured. The rapid antibody test with recombinant N protein showed higher positive rate than the rapid IgM antibody test with recombinant S1 protein. Clinical evaluation showed that the rapid antibody test kit with recombinant N protein had 88.56 % analytical sensitivity and 97.42 % specificity for COVID-19 patients, 53.48 % positive rate for suspected COVID-19 patients, 57.14 % positive rate for recovering COVID-19 patients, and 0.5-0.8 % cross-reactivity with other respiratory pathogens. The analytical sensitivity of the kit did not significantly differ in COVID-19 patients with different disease courses (p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The rapid antibody test kit with recombinant N protein has high specificity and analytical sensitivity, and can be used for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection combined with RT-PCR.
